Former “Lost” star Naveen Andrews, who played Sayid Jarrah in the ABC hit, has reported split from his long time girlfriend Barbara Hershey. Barbara Hershey is best known for her roles in movies such as Beaches, The Hoosiers and The Natural.
The couple who started dating in the late 90s have been on and off again for the last 11 years. During one of their frequent separations Andrews began a relationship with actress Elena Eustache during which Andrews and Eustache had a son together, Naveen Joshua. Andrews and Eustache subsequently ended their relationship shortly after the birth of their son; Naveen Andrews has sole custody of their son.
Sources close to Andrews and Hershey reported that the reason behind their recent break up could be credited to the fact that Andrews wants to have more children and at this point in Barbara’s life more children are just not in the cards for her. Hershey has a son Tom Carradine with ex David Carradine.
Friends of the couple are said to believe that another reason for their relationship ending is due to the fact that there is such a huge age gap between the two; Hershey was born in 1948, while Andrews was born in 1969, making Hershey 21 years Andrews senior.
Sources believe that the couple is just at two completely different stages in their lives. Both parties insist that the break up was amicable and that they will continue to support each other and be a part of each other’s lives.
Although “Lost” has just had its series finale after six seasons, Andrews fans need not worry, sources stated that Naveen has numerous projects in the woodwork.
