Entertainment Weekly’s recent news story reported that after a series of talks with several prolific directors, Oscar-winning director, Bill Condom, is currently Summit Entertainment Studio’s premier choice to direct the next installment of the Twilight saga.
Breaking Dawn, the fourth and longest novel of the Twilight Series, may be the most difficult to adapt to the big-screen. Due to the novel’s 756 pages, Summit Entertainment may possibly divide the fourth novel into two separate films; the first installment focusing on Edward and Bella’s marriage and the second chronicling her metamorphosis from human being to vampire.
Screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg addressed the concern of Breaking Dawn’s graphic birthing scenes in a recent interview with Film.com. The Twilight series has garnered a large teen audience, and Ms. Rosenberg does not feel as though the franchise’s fourth installment would deviate from its teen friendly theme. She stated to Film.com, “You don’t sacrifice story by cutting language. Nor do you sacrifice story by showing less blood or gore”.
Millions of Twilight fans are awaiting the release of the third film, Eclipse, which will appear in theaters nationwide on June 30. Breaking Dawn is scheduled to hit theaters in November of 2011.
