Forty-eight year old Star Jones is recovering at home with her family after facing surgery to correct a previous operation. The surgery, which she first underwent in her late teens was meant to remove a thoracic tumor. The most recent surgery was simply an addendum to her first surgery. There is no reason to believe that a new tumor was found.
Officials state that the form of cardiovascular surgery that Star underwent is very rare. The surgery was not an emergency procedure but was instead planned well in advance. Fortunately Star seems to be making a full recovery and appears to be doing well. The surgery was completed just days before Star’s birthday. This comes only a few years after her infamous gastric bypass surgery, which helped her to lose 160 pounds.
Star Jones is most well known for her previous role on the Barbara Walter’s daytime talk show “The View.”
